Whale washes up at Mtunzini
A humpback whale washed up on Doggy Beach in Mtunzini last night after giving birth to its calf. The calf was seen all day just behind the backline. Hope it survives.

The after birth washed up as well. The whale was 18m long. They normally give birth in Mozambique, but this mom probably faced some difficulties and gave birth while on route north.
Sad, really sad.

On Wednesday the whale was washed back into the sea, it has now washed up at the river mouth but is rotting away like mad, no sign of the baby . They think she died of old age.
