Lots of activity in the Kei at the moment. With smaller shoals popping up and disappearing along the KZN coast. It might be an interesting weekend.

Normally with the sardine run we see not only sharks but alot of other species that follow the sardine's.

when looking at the different online platforms and Kingfisher video blog all they post is sharks being caught.

now i know catching sharks is a real hectic and special task.

what about the other fish that chase the sardine?

has there been in the other predators chasing the sardines this year? or have the other predators not been targeted?

It’s the bigger species that guys like posting and most of them catching their personal best in eds during this time. I have caught plenty grunter, silverbream ,mullet, shad, kob karras and garrack recently. These species were far and few before the sards arrived. Have seen pics of prodigal son and tuna that have been caught by anglers so there is definitely an increase in general fishing activity. Think that focus is put on sharks as due to the sardine shoals and the nets removed it would be the ideal opportunity for the heavy tackle anglers to put their skills to the test.

was starting to get worried about my lets throw a bait and see what happens approach to fishing.

Fishing is still happening, just not so much focus on social media. The local spots are producing some nice edibles.
