Pommies are excellent eating but the bigger fish like this one are not as good as the smaller ones. Pommies between 2-8kg are the best eating in my opinion.

Tips for pommies
30lb trace line - 80cm
25lb sinker line
5oz-7oz sinkers to reach the sand banks
2/0 - 4/0- High quality hooks ( Kendal round is my preferred hook)
Most of my pommies were caught on the running out tide.
Best Baits- Crab, Sealice, Pink prawn, Crayfish tail, Mussel.
