Non Return vs Slide Clip
Hi Guys
I need some help regarding sliding baits.....
I use the non return when sliding live bait but have also seen guys use the sliding clip.
Which is a better setup and produces results?
Thanks
Both have their pro's and con's, but remember both are designed for a specific type of bait.
A sliding clip is best used for live bait, it gives the bait freedom to move up and down the line and in turn the water column. giving it a more natural look.
The non return clip is best used with dead baits, but can also be used with live baits. the only snag is that the livie will stay at the bottom/ split ring.
In the kzn north coast for garrick the live bait clip or nappy clip is the better option,in d south it's not used much,as mentioned above both have there pro n cons,I only use the nappy clip for garrick,
Thanks Ashraf
Your input is greatly appreciated.
Now I got the knowledge... all I need is the tight line :)
Hi Shalen
Firstly there are two types of non-return slides
1. Non- weighted – live bait
2. Weighted –dead bait
Then slide clip
It all depends on what your target specie is
If its Garrick as many are targeting now then you have to take into consideration the feeding zone of that specie
So we know it’s a top water or top column feeder so u want to put your bait in the strike zone then the clip will be best
Thanks Marcus
I am still green to the sliding etc... you seem to know your stuff.
Thanks for the input. Maybe we should fish together...... so i can learn a thing or two. LOL
Many thanks
