Hi,
I am new to this site and would like some advice please, I would love to start fishing from the beach and would like to know where and when can I catch Pompano, I am a Vaalie and stay in Durban when I visit.
lease advise what type of Rod and bait I should get, I have heard of a Watermelon Dropshot lure being used for Pompano
Durban is right spot, the entire Beachfront stretch is good for pommie.
Get yourself some fresh cracker, prawn, Choka and sea lice.
Light set up is better, Beachfront is open clean surf no rocks, so no need for heavier tackle.
Crayfish, small crabs also work, as well as muscles.
Long casts only if banks far out, but generally a fairly short casts work.
