Fishing Pennington
I am once again visiting Pennington over the festive season and really need some ideas as to ..
1. what species to target
2. where to target them.
I know by the river, just right of the ski boat club is good for Shad, but I was thinking of going for other edibles, like rockcod, stumpies, Bronze Bream etc..
A place I like fishing was just north of another river at the very north of Pennington, but there is no parking area anymore, just a traffic circle.
Any ideas?
Hi Paul. If you fishing around Pennington, it's quite rocky, try the rocks to the right of happy Wanderers or there is a road leading to the railway station on the right before the run down buildings. You can park safely for around R30 at the house just before the bridge, cross over the bridge, slightly to the right is a set of rocks then open surf. left of Rocky bay is another option.
Target summer in-eds like rays, skate or even grey sharks with bloody baits.
For edibles, try cracker shrimps, sea lice, prawn, cray tail for stumpy, grunter pompano on the banks with white working water, judge tides half incoming half going out for edibles, high water for in-eds.

Thanx Ronald. we will be there from 21 Dec to 29 Dec. Was hoping there is a bit of surf (sand) within walking distance. The past years , only Shad and a couple of Stumpies. Leaving my heavy stuff at home, only going to target ed's, this holiday.
