Does anyone buy Fishing Licenses anymore?

So I took my son down to Umkomaas yesterday for another lesson in fishing, and we spent most of the morning there. The pier was quiet with only 3 other anglers fishing there, so we enjoyed ourselves catching Karanteen and other small fish. At around 2pm more and more people came through and eventually the pier was full of people catching Karanteens. Just around 3pm I decided to pack up and head home and while packing up, DAFF arrives...

Outcry over illegal fishing on KZN North Coast

This I just came across yesterday. Article was in The Citizen. The department of agriculture, forestry and fisheries said they are issuing a firm warning to those who are caught engaging in illegal fishing activities. Illegal fishing activities are getting out of hand on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast as the department of agriculture, forestry and fisheries (DAFF) struggles to monitor the coastline, reports the North Coast Courier. Last year April, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife‘s contract with DAFF to look after the coastlines was terminated after 32 years. Ezemvelo was responsible for maintaining wildlife conservation areas and biodiversity in KZN...

Kob

Caught this kob at a local Durban beach last week while scratching for black tail with a 1/0 hook and sardine. Water was horrible, only 7 ounce thick wire grapnel wasn't drifting.
