Live bait usage

With more anglers targeting game fish and the use/storage of live bait did you consider: Does one need a permit to transport the live bait and does one need a permit to store the live bait or is an angling licence sufficient?

Fishing Drones

I have been toying with the idea of using drones to drop baits a long time ago, even when there were no add on to drop baits. In the research that I did there were a few factors to consider. To start off one of them were flight path. By this I mean I have seen many helicopters and aeroplanes fly close to the shore, I am sure that they need to register a flight path plan before leaving the airport, don’t think the drone users register these path before use? If not then there could be issues of crashing of the drone with the planes. Reason I mention this is the toy planes that are used to fly, the hobbyist needs to fly in a designated zone...

Weight -Really just a big ISSUE

Over the years there has ben 101 arguments on social media about anglers posing with a fish and there is a incorrect weight with the picture. These are mainly social anglers. Is it REALLY just a big deal. Personally I think weight estimating is very difficult and MOST time we get it WRONG. But to crucify an angler for that on social media is really scrapping the bottom of the barrel. He or SHE caught the fish that you did not . They got the weight wrong. MOVE ON

Catch & release?

I'm fairly new to this site, and am surprised by the number of big, breeding size specimens of threatened fish species being kept. Cracker and salmon/kob in particular are in serious trouble - surely everyone knows this? I have no problem with keeping a pan-size common fish for the pot, but keeping a big threatened fish of breeding size makes no sense if you want to keep catching these fish in the future. I salute the skill of the angler for catching such a fish, but I would celebrate him more if he released it. We as fishermen have got to talk, and more importantly, think about these things. It's not politics, it's just common sense that if you take out the breeding size fish of a declining fish stock that it will decline further...
