Dorado (Mahi) Fishing still great and some Tuna coming in. Offshore Fishing Report – Durban So far we have had a superb Dorado season, it started early with a big fish; pretty much we getting Dorado every trip. Yellowfin Tuna were scarce for a while but they are now starting to show up. Marlin have also been around. The current seems to have settled and we have some nice warm water so we expect Wahoo to show up anytime, they are late. The next 3-4 months are looking to provide us with some great fishing with Fat Girl, Nawty Girl and McFire ready for action. www.bluewatercharters.co.za

Offshore Fishing Report – Durban – 13 January 2019 As a skipper there is nothing that satisfies me more than when we take kids out fishing with Mom and Dad and we get them hooked up into a nice Dorado for the first time in their lives. Many times it is their first experience at sea, and for me to see their shear excitement, and amazement when they hold on to that rod, sometimes with Mom and Dad’s help and the exhilaration when that brightly coloured beautiful Dorado comes on board totally makes my day. Dorado, Tuna, Monster Marlin, a Dropped Gaff and a Perch. Offshore Fishing Report – Durban – 8 January 2019 A difficult report to write, it usually takes me about a week to get over a dropped Marlin. The currents have been a mess with a complete circular system, out in the deep past 500m we have had a raging 4 not current from N-S, and inshore it has been screaming from S-N, temperatures have varied from 22 deg.C up to 24.5 deg.C and we have found clear green water, dirty green water, clear blue water and that purple water that makes dreams come true...

Offshore Fishing Report – Durban – 18th Last week of 2018 Wow, what a busy week for Fat Girl and Nawty Girl heading up to the end of 2018 not even a chance to post a report. I would like to wish everyone all the best for 2019 and thank all that supported us during 2018. The weather has made it difficult but with some shifting around we managed to get all our trips in on both boats and accommodate everyone. So many trips I don’t know even where to start, we had some nice warm blue water move in and then it disappeared leaving us with some colder green water and a screaming current, even so we managed to get good fish on both boats...

1 Bull and 4 Queens for Fat Girl Offshore Fishing Report – Durban – 21st December 2018 Fat Girl and Nawty Girl made their way out of port together for short morning trips after exiting port we parted ways. We headed out for the deep and at the 90m we had our first Dorado on board, a nice Bull. We headed out deeper and North but the water got green and so we came back on the inside and found shoals of bait fish all over and managed to get 4 nice Queen Dorado bring the tally to 5 for the day and a draw with Nawty Girl who also got 5 fishing a completely different area. The water was clean on the inside and averaging around 22.4deg.C...

2 Bulls and 3 Queens for Nawty Girl Offshore Fishing Report – Durban – 21st December 2018 With short morning trips Nawty Girl and Fat Girl made their way out, sending the 2nd line out Nawty Girl had her first Dorado hook up long before reaching no.1, this turned out to be a nice Bull. For the next 2 hours it was impossible to get the entire spread set as before all the lines were out there was another Dorado on and in the end there was 5 Dorado on board, 2 Bulls and 2 Queens. www.bluewatercharters.co.za

Ice Water, Bottoms up and a Tuna Offshore Fishing Report – Durban – 19th December 2018 The water was ice cold between 19 deg.C and 20 deg.C and even though conditions were reasonable, the SE swell was very steep making for an awkward roll and pitch when taking them from the side. We got out to some reefs and did some bottom fishing catching a variety of bottom species including some nice size Slinger and after a few hours of this we took a slow troll back and hooked up 1 Yellowfin Tuna, dropped another one and then got 2 decent size Sarda Sarda. www.bluewatercharters.co.za
